Petplan wanted to send an email to policyholders celebrating Groundhog Day.
I created a two-email series with a “surprise and delight” promotion inside. The first email was a simple Groundhog Day message with pet health tips. The second email (sent a day later) had an identical subject line to trick policyholders into thinking they received a duplicate email. If they opened the second email, they got a surprise that played off the movie “Groundhog Day.”
